High energy days
ON THE DAYS I WAKE UP ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BED THO….. IT’S FULL BODY MODE. I THINK THE ATHLETE IN ME FROM ALL THOSE YEARS OF SOFTBALL REFUSES TO LET ME WORK JUST ONE MUSCLE, I SIMPLY HAVE TO DO IT ALL.
I’LL START WITH SOME CUTE LITTLE ARM WORKOUTS & A COUPLE OF BACK EXERCISES, EITHER CABLES OR MACHINES.
FOR LEGS I DO CHANGE THESE UP BUT THIS IS EVERYTHING I GET INTO. REVERSE LUNGES ON THE SMITH MACHINE, WEIGHTED BACK EXTENSIONS, WEIGHTED HEEL-ELEVATED GOBLET SQUATS, FINISHED WITH BODYWEIGHT JUST TO FEEL THE BURN. LEG PRESS, RDLS, HIP THRUSTS & HIP ABDUCTIONS.
LASTLY, I FINISH IT OFF WITH 15-20 MINS OF CARDIO BECAUSE WHY NOT.
Pink sets & progress
on my unmotivated days, i keep it simple & TRY TO SHOW UP. USUALLY AN HOUR OF CARDIO AT A 10 INCLINE, SPEED AROUND 3-3.3. I FOCUS ON CONTROLLING MY BREATHING, STAYING PRESENT, & LETTING MOVEMENT DO ITS THING. SOME DAYS, THAT’S MORE THAN ENOUGH.
I read the woman in me by britney spears in two days & its easily one of the most inspiring books i’ve ever read. It’s a powerful story of womanhood, RESILIENCE, & STRENGTH. BRITNEY SHARES DEEPLY PERSONAL PARTS OF HER LIFE. MOMENTS THAT FELT SO RAW & FAMILIAR THAT I CAUHT MYSELF GETTING TEARY-EYED MORE THAN ONCE.
EARLY IN THE BOOK, SHE TALKS ABOUT HOW SHE ALWAYS WANTed TO MAKE THE PEOPLE AROUND HER HAPPY, HOW DEEPLY SHE CARED ABOUT OTHERS WELL-BEING, EVEN WHEN SHE HERSELF WAS THE YOUNGEST PERSON IN THE ROOM. YOU CAN FEEL HOW MUCH SHE CARRIED EMOTIONALLY, HOW OFTEN SHE PUT OTHERS BEFORE HERSELF, & HOW THAT INSTINCT FOLLOWED HER INTO EVERY STAGE OF HER LIFE.
SHE GOES ON TO SHARE HOW BADLY SHE WANTED TO BE A MOTHER, & READING THAT, I COULDN’T HELP BUT BELIEVE HOW NATURALLY FIT SHE WAS FOR THAT ROLE. SOMEONE WITH THE CAPACITY TO FEEL SO DEEPLY, TO BE GENTLE WITH OTHERS EMOTIONS, & TO FIND JOY IN MAKING PEOPLE HAPPY IS SOMEONE WHO BRINGS LOVE INTO THIS WORLD SO INSTINCTIVELY.
THE “MENTAL BREAKDOWN” THAT SOCIAL MEDIA LIKES TO STILL JOKE ABOUT (WHEN SHE SHAVED HER HEAD) FELT ENTIRELY DIFFERENT WHEN TOLD IN HER OWN WORDS. THAT MOMENT WASN’T CHAOS; IT WAS RESISTANCE. IT WAS HER WAY OF showing the world she never cared about opinions, laughter, or judgment placed on her. at her core, all she wanted was her children, & she fought relentlessly for them, even when everyone stood in her way.
Britney briefly talks about god & faith in her memoir. she reflects on how her belief in something bigger than herself helped her through the hardest parts of her life. she talks about losing faith under the control of her conservatorship, but later realizing that prayer was something that grounded & sustained her as she fought for freedom. She mentions how she’d repeat to herself, “you can’t fuck with a woman who knows how to pray”
she doesn’t spend much time revisiting the details of her conservatorship or the legal path to her freedom, likely because it’s already public. instead, the heart of the book is about something deeper: her ability to find joy, gratitude & softness despite being pushed back into dark & lonely places by those closest to her.
Britney spears is truly an icon, not just for her music, but for her strength. through her story, she advocates for anyone living under control, scrutiny, or impossible expectations. her message is quiet but powerful: keep going, keep pushing forward, even when billions of eyes are waiting for you to make a mistake.
